Be Strong & Courageous
6 “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
These are the words which God has spoken to Joshua, the successor of Moses, after Moses’ death, their great leader who brought the Israelites out of Egypt many years ago. God has spoken the word “be strong and courageous” three times to Joshua. I can identify with him as a new leader. Those are the words God has spoken to me as well recently via my 2 leaders. I was deeply encouraged by God… think it just something that I need to hear from Him lately after I took up the leadership of KE2.
“Be strong and courageous,” says the Lord. It is not an easy task to take the lead for any kind of leader. Furthermore, it is a special group consists of some very special, unique and young members who form a special homogeneous group of fresh graduates or future graduates from various disciplines. As I have been in a student group almost my whole life, it is a challenge now for me to move on with the whole group and experience another level of faith together.
The word of God just came on time. I was very much fearful and uncertain of what would happen. Would I be able to make it with the group despite of the past failures, unfruitfulness and human weaknesses? Am I the right person to do this? Will the group grow? Too many questions and concerns were on my mind and I got clogged up in my mind.
Guess I was too focusing on my own self and forgetting about a Big God that I have. Though I am weak and not capable of doing many things but God can. He always can. He has a fabulous track records of healing the sick, made the crippled walk, the blind eyes see, the mute speak, and even raising a dead man to life. A wonderful and loving God I have. The growth of a CG is not too big a task for Him, I believe. It’s God’s business anyway. Faith is the key to tap into God’s power and miracles. Pray that God will transform all my fears into faith. Be strong and courageous. KE2, let’s move on.
